We all have certain kitchen tools that we favor using over others.  Whether it’s to make the job easier or just prettier! we have them, and if we don’t we should have at least a couple, especially the pretty ones!

The list below are some of my favorites!

1. Ceramic Pans (12 inch & 10 inch)

  • The 12 inch is a little deeper and of course larger, but it is good for making dishes that require more stirring and combining of ingredients. Helps keeps it all in the pan 😉
  • The 10 inch is less deep and is perfect for cooking 4 fried eggs for breakfast.. or dinner-breakfast.  Since it is more shallow of pan, it’s much easier to get under the yolk to turn the egg and the handle is soft almost padded feeling.
  • The ceramic pans provide a non-stick cooking surface that is much safer than the old traditional Teflon.  The ceramic doesn’t have the  PFOA, PFAS, lead and cadmium that some other pans contain. So just like new technology in electronics, we also get new tech in the kitchen! Yay for Ceramic!!
  • The brand I have are GreenLife and I have Turquoise color… eeekk!  They also come in Burgundy or Black. I have always had Stainless Steel or black pans until I got these ceramic pans.  I have to say… I LOVE the color!  I’ve actually gotten other brighter colors for my kitchen tech. I guess you could say that my pans inspired me to branch out and enjoy some COLOR! lol

2. Mini Spatulas/Turners and Spoons

  • These little utensils are awesome for little jobs.  And let’s face it… we eat a lot of eggs living a Low Carb lifestyle… how small of a job can you get?!  It’s an egg.  The spoon is just the right size for lowering in eggs to boiling water for hard boiled eggs.
  • The spatula is ideal for turning smaller things like eggs or bacon in the pan.  You can get it down in the pan and in position it to turn a soft yolk  so you can get a nice runny egg. Yummmm.  The ones in the picture above are the ones I love! And they have lots of love on them in the form of melted parts and bubbles… that just happened this week.  Not sure why….  odd.  I’ll be on the look out for another option since Ikea stopped selling the ones I love.  I’ll update this post when I find some others that I like and give you a link.
  • The idea here is that I’ve found mini utensils are my definite go to. They are so much more manageable.

3. Milk Frother

  • This is probably my #1 or #2 go to item in the kitchen.  I use this frother everyday, and twice or more a day on the weekend.  Yes! I L.O.V.E. coffee… What can I say…
  • If you use a cream that is higher in fat like the heavy whipping cream you can get a nice latte type top to your coffee with the frother.

The secret is to froth the cream in the bottom of the mug BEFORE you add the coffee (and if you have sweetener you can add that too).

4. Pyrex Storage Containers

  • These containers are integral to my food storage and meal prep. They come in different shapes and sizes and stack together very efficiently so I can maximize storage in my refrigerator or freezer. My favorites are the rectangle shaped Pyrex because I feel like they use space more efficiently, but I have both the circle and rectangle collections.
  • The #1 thing that I like best about these are: They are made from GLASS.  So yeah! No odd chemicals will leach into your delicious foods. You can store and reheat lunch leftovers or dinner leftovers without having to transfer the food to another microwave safe dish. #WinWin

5. Salad Spinner

  • I use my salad spinner religiously every Sunday when I prep lettuce for the week and I love it! After I use my Romaine lettuce drying hack, I chop the lettuce, load it into the salad spinner and give it spin.  This method makes for super dry lettuce and it stays fresh all week.

Now that I’ve shared these 5 kitchen favorites, I’ve thought of another 5 or so while writing this list. I’ll share them in another post.  So, please follow me and sign up for email updates to be notified of my new posts.
